Dr. McEntire was born and raised in Birmingham, AL and is excited to start his new life at Abdoney Orthodontics and enjoying Tampa, Florida. Dr. McEntire feels very blessed to have this opportunity to join the Abdoney Orthodontics team, and looks forward to carrying on their 50+ year old tradition of serving the Tampa Bay area.

Education

Dr. McEntire went to Auburn University for his undergrad degree, earning a Biomedical Science degree, and graduating summa cum laude. He received the Comer Medal upon graduation for "excellence in biologic sciences." He also served some leadership roles including vice president of Alpha Epsilon Delta, Auburn's pre-health honor society. He also was an ambassador for the College of Science and Mathematics and served as president of that organization ("COSAM Leaders").

Dr. McEntire then returned to Birmingham for dental school at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. There he served as class Vice President for 4 years, and graduated first in class and received the Dean's Medal. He was also inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon honor society, an organization that also presented him with the William S. Kramer award of Excellence.

Upon graduation from dental school Dr. McEntire moved up to Richmond, VA to attend Virginia Commonwealth University for specialty training in orthodontics. There he successfully defended his master's thesis entitled "Three-dimensional analysis of soft tissue changes upon smiling."

Outside the Office

While at Auburn, I met my wife Abby, a Tampa native. She stuck by me through the rest of the educational process, and we're excited to have finally made it to Tampa. For fun, I enjoy running, cycling, and being outdoors in general, spending time with family and our golden retriever. I still stay active with soccer as well. We're looking forward to the arrival of our new addition to the family - a baby girl.
